Pocomoke Christmas Parade 2020

After reviewing different scenarios for some kind of event/parade with help from the Jr Women's Club & The City of Pocomoke, we have decided to continue with the long-lived tradition of being the first parade to usher in the Holiday season for the eastern shore.

Things will definitely not be the same as in the past but since 1972 or before, Santa has always arrived in Pocomoke the first Monday after Thanksgiving. Staying with tradition we have decided to have a very small parade to bring Santa & Mrs. Clause to Pocomoke.

This is a way for all the local children to see Santa & Mrs. Clause on their normal ride through Pocomoke on Monday Nov 30 at 7pm. We ask that everyone please wear your mask when outside when social distancing cannot be observed. The route will be from the

Pocomoke Firehouse to the river bridge. To help bring in Santa & Mrs. Clause will be started by Pocomoke Police Dept., Mayor & Council, Miss, Jr Miss & Little Miss Pocomoke, Pocomoke Fire Co., All About Dance & Jr Women's Club (with a surprise for the kids)
then Santa & Mrs. Clause in the Tower of the Pocomoke Fire Co..

We please ask that you refrain from using Market St on Monday Nov 30 from 7pm to 7:30pm. Any questions please feel free to send us a message.

Thank You,
Pocomoke Parade Assoc.

Tuesday night on December 3rd, 2019, we will celebrate our 47th year!

Pocomoke City will be transformed into a "Winter Wonderland", playing host to one of Delmarva’s largest nighttime Christmas parades.

Always held on the first Monday night after Thanksgiving, the Pocomoke parade has become an Eastern Shore tradition and will attract over 100 units from Maryland, Delaware and Virginia along with thousands of spectators.

Each year the parade features marching bands representing high and middle schools from seven counties in three states. Also featured will be beautifully decorated and lighted floats entered by schools, civic organizations, churches, and commercial enterprises.

Clowns, marching units, fire departments, equestrian units, and of course Santa Claus will round out the two-hour event, slated to kick-off at 7:00 p.m. sharp. The route will take the parade north on Market Street beginning at 14th Street and ending at the Pocomoke River.

Professional judges, including members of the National Judges Association (NJA), will score entries in many different categories. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded immediately following the event to the top entries in each category.

A special thanks to the community of Pocomoke City and surrounding areas for the recent support given to us to continue this great tradition that has been a part of the town for over four decades.
